Description of Your Animal:

The agreement will contain a brief description of your horse, which you will need to enter. An example of what can be entered follows:

A 16.2 hands, bay, gelding with a snip below the right nostril, and a left hind white half pastern.

Bailee:

A bailee is someone to whom some type of personal property has been given to, but no change of ownership has taken place. Therefore the bailee is the person or business who will be boarding the horse on behalf of the horse's owner.

Type Of Horse:

All that you need to do here is enter what type of horse your will be boarding. For example:

Place of Boarding:

Here you should enter a brief description of the place the horse will be boarded. For example:

Box stall in a heated, ventilated, enclosed barn.

Full Day's Charge:

It will be inserted in the agreement that the horse must be picked up by a certain time, or a full day's boarding fee will be charged. This means that if you insert a time of 3 p.m., for example, any horse picked up after 3 p.m. will be charged a full day's board for that day.

Lien:

The Agreement states that the Bailee will have a lien on the horse for all unpaid boarding and related fees. This means that if the bailee is not paid within a certain amount of time, they will be able to keep possession of the horse until the fees are paid by the horse's owner. If the nonpayment continues, the bailee may have the horse sold to collect the amount owed.

Injury or Damage Claim:

The Agreement states that the horse's owner must file a written claim for any injury or damages resulting from the boarding within a specific amount of days (you choose how many days.) This helps protect the Bailee because the horse's owner must provide the bailee with written notice within a certain amount of time.

State Law:

Generally speaking, the state law you choose to apply should be the state where the boarding services are primarily located.

Registration Number:
